In Case You Wondered ...
Aug. 7th, 2005 11:40 amYes, I'm still walking the face of the earth, in quite jolly mood, actually.
Didn't fall off any obscure Scottish mountain tops, didn't drown, didn't starve, wasn't drained to death by bloodthirsty bugs (thankfully, that experience was solely left to cavendish *g*). And while I still feel uncomfortable with flying, I have to admit that both my airplane journeys went unexpectedly well. To cut a long story short: Great holiday, lots of fun, and, as some of you might have noticed, very little time for postcards... *g*. But Cavendish and I hope to make up for that by a number of carefully selected pictures...
As for the relative belatedness of this little "Hi, I've safely returned from my holidays" post: I just started a three-month internship at the Filmmuseum Düsseldorf, library section, to be precise, and spent the better part of last week with sorting and catalogizing archive material, ranging from various present day film magazines to original Zarah Leander fan material from the late 30s and early 40s. A job close to paradise for any computer-friendly, film-obsessed historian with a soft spot for archive work...
But now for a quick update on the fannish front:
-finished Galsworthy's Forsyte Saga and have started reading the new Harry Potter. (selenak, you were absolutely right about the first chapter. I now need that Fudge icon more than ever)
- am still watching classic Doctor Who and enjoying it immensely
-have finally decided which characters to pick for the OTP meme that was making rounds a couple of weeks ago, but be warned, my interpretation of the term "one true pairing" isn't exactly standard *veg*
