Update on Mystery Blackout
Aug. 15th, 2007 03:49 pmThe electrician came, saw and repaired, so everything is back to normal. Yay!
As it turned out, our troubles were not being caused by anything in our household, but rather by some random glitch in the main power supply which messed up the central fuse and about half of the circuits. Also, the bathroom water heaters are apparently drawing electricity from a different source than the staircase. Thus the water=light thingie.
Too bad my generally relieved mood only lasted until I read about the Mafia killings in Duisburg. I've got friends living in that part of the town and have often driven down the road where these killings happened.
