I guess Paramount pulling the plug after just two seasons, with only one season being aired so far, was kind of inevitable, given the circumstances and the general direction in which Paramount is currently heading as a company.
And still I don't know what saddens me more. Being robbed of a perfectly good, imaginative and fun to watch Trek Show boldly embodying all the Humanist values that Star Trek has stood for ever since TOS graced our screens in the 1960s.
Or the silencing, bullying "Hooray! Finally and end to that garbage!" of all the hater comments that I stumbled across reading about Star Fleet Academy's cancellation.
I would never have thought I'd like to quote William Shatner. On anything. But here we go:
I've been watching Star Trek ever since I was a kid in the 1980s. I'd love to have seen those Academy students' journey completed.
