Mhm... The great and horrible picture spam of Bimo and Cavendish's holiday has got to be right ahead. At least that's what this walk description says...

Our first stop, Exeter.

Of course, just like any other self-respecting medieval town, Exeter doesn't only come with a variety of narrow little streets and timbered houses, but also with a stunning cathedral.

The damage on these angels isn't caused by environmental pollution as one might expect, but actually by people who believed the stone had certain healing powers.

We were just walking down the street when we noticed this quite impressive accumulation of paintings done by no other than a certain Mr Robert Allen Zimmerman *g*. Cavendish, being the fan that he is, was of course rather delighted...

Puh, St. Ives, finally :-)

Porthmeor beach right ahead. As it turned out, just about five minutes away from our holiday flat.

White sand, crystal clear waters, waves, rather ideal for sunbathing and surfing. Most folks wore wetsuits, though, as the water was just about 15°C.

Throning right above Porthmeor...The St. Ives branch of the Tate. I have to shamefully admit, though, that we didn't manage to go inside. Too little time, so many things to do and see, and the idea of spending an afternoon relaxing on that beach was just too tempting.

Streets of St. Ives, tourists doing touristy things. The closer you got down to the harbour, the more crowded it got. The upper part of the town was fine, though.

St. Ives, city of artists and galleries. Of course we did the proper thing, stepped inside more often than not and, in one case, failed to resist. Guess which of these paintings is now ours...

Portminster beach and harbour.

Looking at the last couple of pictures, I have a hard time believing that we actually went to Cornwall and not some place in France.

Day of the nice but not quite successful sailing excursion.Very little wind, very few animal sightings, just one seal and two harbour dolphins when it's actually quite common to spot whales or sharks.

The graveyard right above Porthmeor beach.

Porthmeor, evening light.

Harbour promenade, time to say goodbye to this place.
